Captain's Log

[t5] Turn 5 — The Lazaret Quuen ran out the grappling irons and boarded Brass Promise in a smother of smoke. Capt. Simone Sinclair gave no quarter: 15 of Cheikh Blacktide's hands were pressed to new articles, 6 cut down, 6 put ashore to the crabs. Brass Promise struck her colours — +130 plunder to the victors.
[t4] Turn 4 — flat calm. The Brass Promise drifts on a sheet of mercury while the men gamble away tomorrow's share and watch the rim of the world for sails.
[t3] Turn 3 — below the Assurance's swinging lanterns, Aleida Ashford and Bram Louverture found each other between the watches. A dangerous tenderness in a trade that loves no one back.
[t2] Turn 2 — at a glassy dawn the The Lazaret Quuen and Assurance traded iron until the sea steamed. Simone Sinclair's gunners found the range; 4 of the Assurance's crew fell to 2 of their own before the hulls drifted apart, powder-blind and cursing. +5 skimmed from the wreckage.
[t1] Turn 1 — the The Lazaret Quuen's crew had bled enough under Capt. Eliza Blacklung. They put him over a barrel at musket-point and raised Simone Sinclair in his place; the articles were rewritten in rum and old grudges.
